 | 1-pair of child's, blunt-tipped, Fiskars scissors
(good for both right & left handed children)--These scissors are
EXCELLENT! I actually use them all the time myself...even when
doing sewing projects! They cut really well and are very easy
for first-time scissors-users to learn on because of the ease at
which they cut...I think its crucial for children to be given
good scissors to learn on, or else they just get frustrated.
These are the only scissors I use with kids, they are that good.

 | 1-.32oz glue stick--These are great for paper
projects, especially since they don't damage the paper like a
glob (as young children inevitably use large amounts) of white
glue would...NOT good for using with 3D objects like macaroni
and rice...even glitter doesn't stick well with glue sticks. So
this is primarily for paper. |
 | 1-1.25oz washable school glue bottle--This is for all
the other projects that need a really good glob of glue to hold
things in place. |
 | 1-plastic table cover--I realize not everyone has
child-safe preschool type tables available to use for their
children's art experiences, so I'm including a plastic table
cover to help keep your furniture at least somewhat neat. :) But
even with a table cover, please do still set your child up in an
area that is ok to get messy...accidents will happen and your
child needs to be able to fully experience their art project
without having to worry about the furniture or rug, etc. |
 | 1-table top tape dispenser w/clear tape--I have found
that the table top tape dispensers work much better for small
children to use than the hand-held ones. Even very young
children can generally figure out how to use these (with some
initial instruction) successfully...worth the extra money for
the success rate, in my mind! :) |
 | 1-child sized apron--I'm still researching what kind
to put in the kit...I have access to a couple different
kinds...stay tuned. Keep in mind, though, that even with an
apron on, your child needs to still be dressed in clothes that
can get dirty and be set up in an area that can get
messy...Otherwise there's too much pressure on the child to stay
neat and they cannot fully explore their project properly. |
 | 1-pencil sharpener & 2-#2 pencils--These are great
for practice writing, especially in writing names on
projects...and kids love to sharpen their own pencils! |
 | 1-plastic shoe box--to store all the above items in. |
 | 1-lunch tray or sectioned plate
(depending on what is available)--for putting out
paint, collage materials, etc. |
